Strength of Pull-Pull cable
I just returned from Gander Mountain and they had some real nice black nylon coated stainless steel cable and crimps for making a pull-pull set up. I have always used 60-pound leader material but while I was there the 30-pound looked like a better size. I flying 90-120 size aircraft with 168-ounce servos, I would think 30-pound (480 ounce) cable should be enough. What are you using?

30 pounds is about 20 pounds more than the control surface can handle at the horn attach.:D

Originally posted by OUTCAST 30 pounds is about 20 pounds more than the control surface can handle at the horn attach.:D I have 6-32 horns that I know will take a lot more than 10 pounds. But I agree that 30 might be enough. This is what I am trying to find what most are using for 3D flying loads. The 60 pound is 0.032” where the 30 pound is 0.026” in diameter. Not much difference there for twice the strength. |
