A rolling harrier is a combination of all the manuvers that you mentioned and then some. You also need to be able to do a high alpha knife edge. You start in a harrier position then you tork roll to the left and as you turn apply right rudder. this keeps your nose up then when you are on the side it is a high knife edge. continue rolling around into a inverted harrier (letting up on the rudder) continue rolling slowly appying left rudder and as you finish the roll get off the rudder and go back to the harrier. This is how I do it, It may be the wrong manuver to what you want I think it is and if it is What kind of plane are you trying to do it with. I hope this helps

You would be frustrated with the wrong plane. Like what can'tfly@all said, you need a plane that will do a high alpha knife edge. My UCD does it real well. My H9 Edge starts falling on after a couple rolls. It takes A LOT of practice. I use G2 sim to practice this manuever. Once you get your brain to send the right commands to your fingers then it's just a matter of timing. Also practice both directions, some people can do it really well but only in one direction. It would be nice to go both ways.

Its always easyier to go with the tork roll direction that way you don't have to worry as much about rolling. You NEED the right plane though.

I am using the Funtana S. I am pretty sure the plane is capable, I just wish I was. Thanks for the quick replies. Dale

Rolling Harrier

I have never flown a Futana S. But I can do it with my pizzaz. But in order to do it you need to be able to tork roll all day long. And make sure you can do a high alpha knife edge all day long. And the last thing you need is practice it took me 20 flight of just this manuver to be able to do it (What I consider well) So it looks like I know what I'm doing. Keep us posted on your progress. And the last thing i reccomend. Is don't try and do it all at once. start from a harrier and go to a high alpha and just repeat that for a while. Once it seems boring to you incorperate a little more of the manuver and a little more until you are able to do it. Please keep us posted on your progress and feel free to send me a private message is you need help with somthing. Have Fun

The Funtana is very capable at doing harrier rolls. I have one and they are very nice. I practiced on G2 first until I could do them. Then I started doing it with the Funtana. There was no difference using the sim or the funtana. At first my plane would be doing a high alpha rolling circle,(timing off) then I practiced a lot on G2 now I can do rolling harriers right down the length of the runway.
