APC Props?
 

Been noticing most everyone is using the APC props for 3D with the smaller glow powered planes. Purchased a couple for a Saito 82 that is installed in a 3D plane. What do you do to get it tightened down? The hubs or a little narrower than on wood props. Washer, spacer...What??
Using the washer and nuts that came w/ the engine. The threads on the crankshaft or not long enough so the nut can't go any tighter.

I have never run into that problem.. How much of a gap is there? I suppose a shim in front of the prop would work just have to make sure its flat and the right thickness..

Made a couple sandpaper disc and that seemed to work alright. I'll try and find a washer close to the same size as the original, but flat.

Two tips:
Some of the APC 3D sizes have very wide (but shallow front-to back) hubs---make sure any washers are equally wide.

And: the APC prop material is very hard---difficult for some aluminium prop drivers to bite into it--I always cyano discs of medium wet-and-dry sandpaper to the driver and/or the prop hub--the prop can slip otherwise.

Home Depot and Lowes have drawers of misc. hardware...Get some "wood washers" to just snugly slip over the shaft.

I had the same problem on my UCD46/S82/APC14x4W.... The wide blades are thinner
on the hub, normal pitch props no problem.. I just used a extra washer.. If your using
a spinner, sometimes the spinner bolt will be short/long I get bolts that fit from the
hardware store, among other things, they also have the nylon wing bolts...

I took a old plastic spinner back plate that was busted. Then took a Dremmel tool with a sanding drum and ground it down to the same size as the thrust washer. This is light strong and works great. Another thing on APC props. The back mounting surface is not flat. Take a "T" bar before you balance it and sand it flat.
