Tribute 3D Eletric Conversion

Hey guys,

I have just bought a Tribute 36 ARF from Horizon Hobby. I know the Horizon web page calls for a .36 - .40 nitro engine. I was however wondering if I can use an electric motor:-

I would appreciate if you guys can help me choose:-

Motor
Speed Control
Battery
Propeller

I don't want to loose any of the 3D flying characteristics of the plane by making this change.

Now if my idea is a bad one....please do not hesitate to let me know too.

Thanks and regards,

Pavan

I know they call it a .36-.40 but its not its to heavy for a .40 size engine so keep that in mind when choosing the electric motor and gear. It weighs about the same as the new funtana so i wouldnt go any less than a saito .72 equivilant electric motor. Let me know how it goes im interested as well.

Hi Pavan, my tribute have a .46FX too but i use a 11.5X4 Apc Prop it flies better more than the 12X4. i recommend it.

i hope to see you in the Vuela 2006 in GDL.

With a Jett .35 my came in at 3 lbs 12 oz so it is still relatively light for a plane of this size.

Did you end up converting this to electric?
Anyone else?
