OK there has been a lot of negative posts lately on CA hinges and more thumbs up for the use of Robart. I have used both with no problems but I only fly 10 pound planes.

I have a question for those who use Robarts on built up wings. How much stock do you add to the trailing edge to accept the hinge point? In other words does the entire hinge point need to be in wood?

Add enough wood to cover all the barbs on the hinge. In stick built open framework flying surfaces a few pieces of stock angled and braced is all it takes. Keep the wood to a minimum to keep the weight down. The heavier the surface the more prone to flutter the surface becomes.

I forgot who makes them. I used them on my Stinger 10 and they seem thicker than Sig's. I like em. Jordan
