3D plane for Brillelli 26

Hello, interested in the Brillelli 26 but trying to figure out which planes are capable of 3d with this engine. So far I've read a few posts about the Funtana 100 being able to do 3d with it. Some references to the Giles but probably not 3d capable with the 26. I'm looking for a plane that can pull out of hovers with authority, built strong and light and can fit in my Scion xb!

Thanks.

I've been thinking about trying to stuff one in a H9 Showtime. I have the 73" CMP giles/26SS, and it's too heavy for 3d with the 26 - flies imac nicely though.

The 40cc is only about 7-10 oz more, but significantly stronger - for 3D I'd recommend moving up. Cost is what, $40 more?

Right now Brillelli is offering a package deal with an Extreme Flight 74" yak, the 40Gt , Jersey Modeler fuel tank setup, and some other goodies for less than $800.

I was also looking at this engine along with the Evolution 26 for my EF Yak 54 68".

I'm flying with a YS 1.10 on 30% CP right now. How would these engines compare, and what would be some weight differences? Right now I'm at 8 3/4 pounds RTF

I can't speak to the power difference, as I've never flown a YS engine - but from what I understand the 1.10 is pretty stout in a 8-9 lb airframe - the 40 would be used more in a 12-14 lb airframe. I can't speak for the Evolution, but my 26SS weighs 43 ounces with standoffs, RTF - minus the weight of the ignition pack. Your YS weighs 27.2oz according to their website. Plus you have to factor in the weight of your motor mounts, as you don't need them. if your motormounts weighed 5oz, you're looking at about 10oz more in engine weight, plus the weight of a ignition switch and ignition battery.

Biggest benefit I see, even if all performance stays the same - by switching to the gasser, your fuel costs will drop from the $30 a gallon to about $2-$3 a gallon depending on what premium gas costs in your area. And add a little more for the 2-stroke premix oil (not expensive.)

That's why I want to switch. I'm paying $96.00 for a case of 30%. I can burn through that in two weekends which makes for some very costly flying. I just hope I can get the same performance from the gasser. I saw the video of QQ flying his 73" YAK with the evo 26. I seemed to fly well, but was lacking big time in hover pull out. He was also at 12 3/4 pounds RTF. I think I should be 2 1/2 to 3 pounds lighter in my EF Yak.
