profile ARF
 

Can anybody recommend a good 60 size profile ARF. I have a twist 40 now and am looking for a good 3d profile that is bigger than the twist.

I thought about getting the fusion, but after reading several posts I had some questions.

Is this plane strong enough to handle a more than perfect landing?

Are the wing supports strong enough to handle 3d flying (not that I am good enough to do everything correctly)? I saw a post where the wing support did not hold up.

Is there a problem with the graphics staying on?

Yes, the plane is strong enough to handle a rough landing. It holds up pretty well I think. It will mash the landing gear if you hit it hard enough but that's true with any plane.

The wing supports are easily strong enough for 3D. No problems whatsoever.

The graphics come off faster than the oil from the fuel. They do not hold up.

This is a good overall flying plane. It's certainly not perfect, but what plane is?

Look on ebay for an accel hobbies katana. They have a 70 size and can be bought there for under 100 clams.. Heres a pic of me and my katana gs 40. I love it!!

Do the profile planes perform better than the u-can-do 60. I was thinking about getting the u-can-do rather than a profile.

Even though it's not an ARF - it is a really fast and really simple build - the MoJo 60. You can easily get one flying within a week and they are about as "destruction proof" as you can get.

If you enjoy flying the Twist - you'll love flying a good profile 3d'er. The U-Can-Do 60 is a good flyer but the MoJo 60 is even better.

I really enjoy flying the Twist. I am just looking for something that is bigger but I don't want the 60 size twist. I saw the Mojo and it looked great, I just wish it came as an ARF.

:)When set up properly both the UCD and the Fusion fly equal. The Fusion is better in KE and and Harrier maneuvers. The UCD is better at flat spins and rolling circles and is easier to hover. Waterfalls are close but I'd give the nod to the UCD. You can mount the tank on the CG on the UCD but not on the Fusion. The Fusion is clear more sturdy than the UCD and will take a tougher landing.

The Fusion was designed to fly both pattern and 3d exceptionally well. Check out some of the videos on the OMP website. I can fly everything up to the unlimited IMAC sequences on the Fusion way better than most planes out there that size plus the 3d capability is awesome. Walls and rolling harrier loops, turnarounds are insane. It is available in both kit and arf format. Another ARF I'd recommend is the Kat 70 V2 from OMP. Very good for 60-90 size motors. It is a two piece wing and built much stronger than the original Accel version. It's been my experience you get what you pay for when shopping at EBay.

I have been flying the Katana 70 V2 from Ohio Model Products for almost a year now and it has been a great plane. I am using an OS 91 fourstroke. A Saito 100 would be better. I fly from grass and lately an outlaw field that is kind of rough. It has held up fine.
