Which Plane would you like to see released for 50CC
 

I was talking with Ultra-RC and they asked me what I thought would be good for their next release in the 50CC category. What do you guys think?? Here are some options, plus feel free to add your own.

I think a Giles in that size would be really nice, especially if it came out light.

Cap 232 ,who makes a 50cc? not many, would be nice to have something new on the menu.There must be something else out there.

I concur - definitely a Sukhoi. There's nothing decent out there in the 50cc category (85 to 87").

Sick of all these Yucks. Is there a manufaacturer that does not have a yak?

There are 3 50cc capable caps I can think of quickly - GP Cap232, the H9 80", and the Wildhare 85". I think Blackhorse has a Cap that might be capable of a 50cc, but I don't know if the quality would be there.

I know it's been debated in the WildHare forum - but I'd like to see a nice Super Decathlon in the 40-50cc range.

We've got scale planes out the wazoooo (and some really great ones coming)

I'd like to see something fresh, offscale... not a UCANDO or Bling 3D... with big fat wings and straight chords...

Something like a 50cc version of the Freestyle 3D pattern planes... Similar I guess to the Chip Hyde Vision 3D... but a little lighter... say 15.5 lbs. Something clean flying but also really great for 3D too...

With the cowl/motorbox designed large enough to accomodate a rear carb motor (DA50) and an inv. pitts muffler without cutting out for it...

Maybe with a bit more wing cord or a bit more wing area, to allow it to slow down more.

I want 3D planes designed to 3D, not scale birds with mods to make them 3D.

Yep... Maybe 85" with about 4" more chord length 1/2"-1" more chord thickness (Too wide a wingspan would reduce snap speed/crispness.

Long tail moment, just not as long as the Vision... Stab in alignment with wing in alignment with horz. thrust line... forget the pipe tunnel... too peaky and heavy.

2" wider cowl to eliminate the engine canting/cutouts

Aileron servos mounted on their sides in hatches to place axis of motion in line with horns.

Phenolic horns

CF wing/stab tbes & gear

Titanium links

Uhmmm..... anything else we should order?

Maybe I'll design my own... already have a name (but can't share it) :)

Big Profile!! Don't have to be scale. Just a solid, knock down drag out--get down and get with the program profile. I ordered one last week, but thats just ONE airplane in this category. ONE. [:o]

We had a similar discussion about this a few weeks back. I was beggin' for a profile and Silversurfer pointed out that there is a HUGE market for this type of airframe. There's a lot of guys that have 50cc engines sitting on the shelf somewhere because they can't find a nice airframe for it.

I wouldn't pay $1350 for that. IMHO 3W planes are overpriced. Christ, for $1350 I can buy a pretty decent 35% or 40% ARF. This 3W plane is 90"--most planes in that size are LESS THAN 1/2 the price of the 3W.

Not trying to beat you up or argue--just an observation from my perspective.

The 3W Fun is perhaps the closest thing to what I'd look for... but I agree $700-800 for the airframe alone is ludicrous. ANd it's not "purdy" I don't think... it looks like a poor representation of an Extra... the wings look wrong for the plane. But it does High Alpha nicely.

I think there are a lot of guys who are looking for a good gasser Profile... and OMP is the only one out there with anything... and they are PROUD of their kits (Hybrid Profile)... meaning they cost nearly as much as I'd expect a profile ARF would... even at the $299 sale price... Still for those wanting a 50cc profile... here's your poison...

Naw... I'm really wanting something like the Freestyle 3D planes that fly like it's on rails, no coupling at all, light and awesome high alpha, sleek and sexy... well thought out so no kludgy tank install, wing attachment, engine cutouts, etc.

AND I want it ay $600 or less with all the CF goodies in maybe two "can't choose between them" designs... ;)

OKAY, I have to contribute here! I have only seen one version of the Giles G300 out there by Airwild, and it is REALLY expensive. My dad owned the full-scale prototype of this airplane and later sold it. Unfotunately, one of the buyers later crashed and died, (it was not believed to be a problem with the aircraft, the pilot may have had a medical issue in flight).

So, I would like to see it in a 50cc design. Their G202 was so successful that it seems to me that it's a no-brainer to make the next in line the next step up. Also, it would probably sell a little better since the G300 is difficult to find in any form.
