Alternative motors for typhoon?
Hello I have a parkzone typhoon 3d and I have a short in the motor wires that I can't hunt down... Anyways has anyone tryed some different motors for this plane other then the stock one. Maybe even one that doesn't use the transmission? Any info would be great thanks

RE: Alternative motors for typhoon?
As far as your "short" goes, if you ACTUALLY have a short in there, your speed control is probably toast unless you got lucky and it shut off before sending power through the wires.
If you mean it's just not getting power, I've seen a couple of these planes where the wire will actually break loose of the solder on the ESC and cause it not to run. It'll just kind of jump around and do not much of anything. If either of these cases are true, a new motor won't even solve the problem, so I'd look at those two first. -Eric |
RE: Alternative motors for typhoon?
well what happens is you power up the motor and it runs fine until you jiggle the wires, then it makes a terrible grinding noise and stops all together. So I don't know whats up I'm figureing its a short.

You want to be looking at the big Typhoon thread here
Look at the RC Groups web site and browse Aircraft - Electric - Airplanes - 3D Flying People have used the Park 480 with it. No gearbox. You'll need to read up on what packs / ESCs they used. |
