First 3D type plane
 

Hi folks, I'm starting to think about 3d type aircraft. I have always been a Golden Era type plane nut. But now I'm starting to think about this type of flying.
I have a new Brillelli 366GT engine sitting on my bench. What is the best type of plane for this 60cc engine? Also what do you think would be a good first time plane as well.

It may just be me but I would try something a little smaller and cheaper first than the 30% scale type plane that would use that engine. You could try a u-can-do 3-D (not just a beginner plane, I have had one for a long time and still fly it regularly) or a funtana or even a twist 40 (at $99.00 if you decide 3-D isn't for you at least you haven't lost much. And all of those planes come in various sizes. If you really want to use that engine try it on a Carden Cap 232 in 30% size but I warn you that is a really wicked plane, alot of fun but really wild.

i second the U CAN DO it really makes you look good. If you want it to be cheap than look at the mojo 40 and 60 profiles.

Another vote for the UCD. I have the .46 and it flys like a charm!

Some sound advice here so far. As you are learning 3D manuevers, you really need to push yourself and put it in the ground now and again throughout the learning curve. I am afraid with a big 30% 3D plane, you may be too timid to attempt the low to the ground manuevers. Rightfully so, way too much invested in the big boys to nose in pulling out of a inverted flat spin or falling out of a hover.

That being said the U-Can-Do, Twist, and mojo are great suggestions. If you are stuck on a bigger plane, my Funatana 100x is a blast with a Saito 1.25.
