2nd plane

Was looking for suggestions for a good second plane...want to be able to use my trainers parts.... .46 tower engine and 4 channel radio...no problem with adding more servos...was something that is capable but can also take it slow moving up...oh yeah needs to be sexy LOL kinda liking the harrier .46 by seagull

Consider where you want to go with your flying (3-D, sport, scale, etc.) and make your next purchase accordong to that. Since you posted in the 3-D room I'll assume you're interested in that. In my opinion the U-Can-Do's, the Twist, the Inspire and if you don't mind a profile, the Mojo, are all better planes than the harrier. Good Luck.

:)I like the UCD and the Twist also. Another one that you need to think about is the Mayhem 40. It's the lightest of the bunch at about 5lbs even. Flys very nice and is a quality ARF. It's as light as a profile but it isn't one.

Thanks
Barry

I've owned the Twist .40 and I now have the U-Can-do .46. Both are very forgiving on low rates and extremely maneuverable on high rates. Both of mine have/had OS .70 4-strokes. I've also looked at the Sig Mayhem. It looks like a great airplane. The best value of the bunch is the Twist, you can pick one up for $99; that's hard to beat.

I kind of steared a buddy of mine to a Tribute. At $90, its a quick easy building profile, very willing airplane, purhaps more funflyish than 3D, but it can be very forgiving too. So far it has been a very good choice for his second plane. He has a OS 46 LA, 4 standard servo's, and HS 81 mini on the throttle. Do a search here on RCU for Tribute 36 ARF.

Spads forum looks cool. Looks like it would be good winter project.

My second plane was the Goldberg EX-TREME 330 profile 40' and I still have it after three years. I removed the blue and yellow colors and it looked alot better. Used my gear from nextar select trainer and it was a good plane. Very strong plane ( took alot of abuse) and kept on flying. No wing rock and its all wing so it just glided. The linkages seemed weak when I was puting it together but had no problems in flight. Fun plane and I was getting questions from advanced pilots the first day of flight.

My buddy can attest to me being more than willing to take the "S" out of SPAD(simple plastic airplane design) but as far as I have seen it is never a winter project maybe 2 days if you are taking your time.
