I've been flyin fourty and sixty size 3der's for a short while now and am looking to go larger. Ive never flown 25% or bigger and dont really know anyone who has. My question is do large scale 3d craft fly like the ones supplied by Greatplanes Realflight(e.g. the 3d sukoi,3dextra,3d540)not the downloadable ones from the web site. I can 3d the hell out of my 40's on the field and it did not take me that long to get the basics. However the realflight 3d planes prove to be near imposible to 3d(or i really suck)They are tip stalling freaks! Do the real craft fly like that? I would hate to invest 2k+ in a plane and want to do nothing more than jump up and down on it! I know this is a really "boner" type question, but why would GP write the software planes like that if they did not fly like that. I know the other planes seem to fly "realistic". Any input would be nice Thanx.

Download the Cap-2X and the Ultimate Perso from there websites. Then see what the bigger planes are like.

I do have these and can fly them well. They just seem too easy to be realistic. If this is how they fly in real life I'm all for em' hell ya!

I don't think the GP sim. knows what 3D is.

Most of the RF2 planes I have flown are way too easy to be considered realistic. Having said that, you will probably enjoy going form 60 size to 1/4 scale and larger. I know I'm having more fun now!

a good, viceless model is the Glens 30% Cap... requires a ZG 62 or 3W 70 for unlimited performance.

www.glensmodels.com ....... < One of the best 3d aircraft you'll EVER see.

I think the edge that comes with Add-on 4 sux too!! I had an Aeroworks 29% edge and it flew a heck of a lot better than what was on G@.

Hi,
I agree with Welsh 3d...get a glens 30% cap, they 3D soooo well, (speak from personal experience).
As for realflight, i have yet to see a aircraft in the sim to fly as well as a 30% (or bigger) model. The ultimate perso is just silly, what i tend to do is use the cap 232 x2 modified slightly to make it harder to torque roll.

To stop model tip stalling in realflight, get the wing loading under 14oz/ft (or whatever the unit is...the magic number is around 14!).

Happy Flying

Cowboy says it best, the sims don't know 3D. I got a G2 and it made me mad. It hits zero airspeed and it tip stalled. My kids l like it.

The larger ones do 3D and overall fly better. Bigger, lower wing loading,, better power to weight, ect...

The Edges are hard to beat with a great compromise between pattern and 3D. For a straight 3D, SA plane, Cap.

If you pure 3D, do one of the Diabolic planes. The XL one a BME 50 ROCKS!!

Pick you budget and back in the plane and all related gear.
