3D Trainer?
 

I have a flyin' buddy who has a TopCap with an OS 46 for learning 3D. I was thinking about the Magic from Hobby People for my OS 46. Any thoughts about the combo and the purpose. At $99 it looks hard to beat. I don't really want to built a Top Cap or Sudokoi.

Great question... I would like the answer to this, too. I learned (started learning... I'm not done yet) on a H9 Edge-540. I love them, even more now that I know what to do with them<g>... but these funfly wing style planes look like they might be easier to get started with. I hear good things about the DogHouse Extreme. The Pizazz looks like it would work. My friend Mickey is still flying his Freestyle. And, my friend Mike just got a Morris plane that makes him look 100 times better than any other plane he's tried to 3D. But, I don't know... I really haven't flown any of them enough to say. I'm looking forward to the replies to your question. :-)

I think any of the Morris planes are great for learning to 3D. The Doghouse Extreme is one of my favorites also. I learned a ton about how to Torque Roll on the Extreme.

I have a magic, and still getting used to it. I was flying a hi speed/hi stall speed plane prior (.25 sized extra), and the magic is a total 180 from it. It stalls at around 6-7 mph, versus about 25 for the extra. The only thing I have found it wont do at this point is knifedge. The plane is only limited by my thumbs. I have gained alot of confidence in it and my abilities in the short time I've had it. It is great for hovering, harriers inverted slow speed flying, etc. Still exploring where I need to have the cg. If you have any wind, you can fly downwind, and either loop, or turn a hard 180 into the wind, and it will stop dead in its tracks, and stay still, perfectly level to the ground. More wind, and you can back it up indefinately.

Almost any of the funflys listed above, and I am sure a bunch more not listed would suit your needs to a T.

I have the top cap with a os 50sx .I love flying the one. It'll do every thing you want . waterfalls,blender.harrier(tip stalls) but I cant get it to climb on the inverted flat spin. It might need more tail weight.It will hover but the longest I can keep it there is about 15 seconds. I also have the aeroworks profile extra with a 160fx. I realy like this plane . Its helped alot for hovering.I think this one is the way to go to learn 3d. Ialso have the doghouse with a 91fx. I only flew this one once becouse the weather turned to crap. with the 91fx on it . it is a rocket.at 6lbs even

I have the Pizazz with a Saito gk-100 - its great for teaching torqe rolling & 3D stuff to my freinds. If you get the Pizazz - go with the Saito Gk-100 instead of the Gk-72 that they recommend, because they are a little too tail heavy with the Gk-72.
