Magic help

Im thinking about getting a magic for training in hovering. What kinda engine would u put on it for pulling out of a hover easily. How do you hover. And whats a prop hang.

I use a GMS 47, but i am told it will hover fine with a 36.

hovering is a little like ballancing a stick on the end of your finger. The Magic is OK for learning to hover. If you want one that is realy easy to hover there are others that will be a little bit easier (but still takes some practice). The Top Cap is a good choice too.

I use a 46fx with a MAC one piece muffler. My friend has an Irvine 40 that really screams.

Magnum 61 RFS

My Magic has a Magnum .61 RFS (4 stroke) swinging a 13x6 APC. Identical weight to an OS 46FX but with even better throttle response, especially in swinging a larger prop. Great for harriers, hovers, climbing knife edge spins. Only disadvantage is that it costs slightly more than a 46 2 stroke.

My MAGIC hovers well with a Saito 56 and 12x6 APC. I have tested other props and this by far works the best. On my plane, the CG is set at the Aerodynamic Center-neutral stability. The only tip is too make sure you set you control surfaces to move at their maximum deflections-this will make it a lot easier.
