U-Can-Do 46

I have just purchased a [link]http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDUL8&P=ML[/link]U-Can-Do 46. My question is which engine I should put in it. It will either be between an OS 70 or a Magnum 91. They weigh the same, so thats not a problem. Suggestions?

:)I like the Saito 82 the best. But I think you'll be dissatisfied with the OS 70. It will not be enough power. The Magnum 91 should work pretty good. Some use the Saito 100 on this plane. But I stand by the 82.

Good luck. You will love this plane. One of my favorites.

Thanks
Barry

The Saito 82 is about the best for this plane but given the options you have I would try the Magnum 91. [8D]

Use the Surpass (guessing it's a surpass) ... If you use the 90, you'll run into prop clearance issues. Use a 14X4W on the .70 ... if you use the .90 you'd have to use a 14X8 or something like that. You can fit a 15" prop ... but there's not really enough room for a less than perfect landing.

I'm not sure if prop size is a problem. There are actually quite a few people who use a Saito 100 in their U-Can-Do 46. I personally think it is overkill. I'll look into the Saito 82.

Been flying UCDs for years now, many think it's a bad choice for 3D, but I've learnt more with these than any profile.
In any case, just my opinion but if you want 4 stroke and have the $ go for the YS63. I use the 110s on my 60s and have totally unlimited verticle. The 63 will out pull every other motor listed (except maybe the saito 100).
If 4 stroke is not an issue and you want unlimited verticle, the new OS75, same size as the 60.
Just remember that with any of these choices above say a OS55, DO NOT use full power unless the nose is pointed up. Else I gurantee flutter followed by total destruction.

You'll be happy with 82. You can use an APC 14x4w with it and it fits in the cowl easily enough. It is plenty of power for the 46, I hover mine with it at about 1/2 throttle. Also, as was mentioned, this plane isn't made for speed at all. Just fun flying / 3D type flying. I'm on my 4th one and love flying it.
