4 stroke fuel

Hi,

I was considering buying a four stroke motor but wanted to verify that it would use the same fuel as a two-stroke. My understanding is that the fuel is safe so long as it contains least 18% lubricant and less than 15% nitro. Is this correct?

Thanks,
Michael

RE: 4 stroke fuel

yeah you pretty much have it. I'll add that for a YS they recommend a pure synthetic oil content to prevent castor oil residue gumming up the regulator, however if you fly it regularly this is not an issue. Too bad you don't live closer, as I have 5 gallons of fourstroke fuel for sale pretty cheap!

Mike.

Great... we use synthetic anyway for cleanup reasons.

Thanks for the advice,
Michael

As far as Nitro content for 4-strokes there is nothing wrong with higher nitro percentages. The YS gurus for instances recommend 30% with 20% as a minimum.
