Which 3D starter plane?
Which one,
Tell me which of the planes you would recommend for a good gentle starter 3D plane for a 3D beginner. I just maidened my new Twist and have a completed FuntanaX 100 ready to go. I am still interested in your opinions. Thank you, Gibbs |

Get a CR-1 from this site: http://www.chargerrc.com
Learn to hover it, torque roll and do rollers. It's BY FAR the best 3D trainer available...way cheaper than glow, way WAY cheaper than gas, and all of the 3D skills you will learn are easily transferable to gas and glow powered planes. Seriously....I went from solo to 3D scale aerobats in 18 months by practicing with these planes. The CR-1 is great for learning and the CR-260 is the best flying foamie available, bar none. |

Yak and Edges are move forgiving in 3D

Dude you just cant go wrong with a yak. They are solid yet can do almost anything:) and are easier to recover in 3D :D

In Resonse,
I already have the Twist and am flying it. I also have the FuntanaX 100, which I haven't flown. I appreciate your feedback but the truth of the matter is my pockets are empty for RC stuff right now. Wife's orders!!!:D I like hearing what you say but I was just really curious as to which plane would come out as the leader. All your comments and choices were great. I had a NIB TOC 30% Yak 54 with a NIB G-62 for it but decided to start building Giant Scale Warbirds so I sold it to help finance my Don Smith 1/4 scale 120" wingspan F4U-1D Corsair. Keep the feedback coming, Gibbs |
RE: Which 3D starter plane?
Personally I would go with the Yak because it is easy to fly, very forgiving, and it can progress with you. The wilder you want to go, it will go with you.
