What Christen Eagle could this be ?

Ok, I know this is not the right forum, but I havn't got any answers in the ARF forum, so I thought I ask here too.
Anybody has any idea what ARF Christen Eagle this one is ? At least I think it is an ARF.
I bought this one here on RCU, but the seller doesn't know exactly what ARF/Kit version this one is. I would like to get a manual for it before the bird gets here so I know what throws it needs on elevator, ailerons, and rudder as well as CG is. If anybody knows this bird and the info needed (or at least a close starting point), please help out.
Oh yeah, it is supposed to have a 50" wingspan.
Anybody ever heard of a "Indy Christen Eagle" ? Could it be that one ?
Thanks

It does look like the 'Lion' Christen Eagle sold by Indy back in the 80s and early 90s...

I have a friend who had one some years ago...it flew superb as all EZ stuff.

I'd dearly love to get my hands on a new one, or a Big Supra - but I doubt theres any out there now.

I'll ask him if he still has the manual over the weekend.

Lion Model Christen Eagle

Hi Texas 3D -

That's a Lion Christen Eagle sold by Indy R/C in US. I have the manual for it - refer to your thread in ARF forum.

Arnie,

The big supra is great my dad has one he used to fly it at sandown. I have had a go and it flys great! There is a man somewhere in kent that I have heard about who has one and a he has one new is box. But he won't sell it! Good luck on finding one. I want one too but I doubt I will ever get one even if i found one I probally couldn't afford it :D (only 16yrs old).

Holy Crap! I am resurrecting an almost 6 year old thread!

Believe it or not I was going through a bunch of old stuff that a buddy gave me years ago and I have an EZ Christen Eagle. It is almost complete and I am putting it together tonight. The plastic is a little yellowed, but I have the manual and all the hardware except for the wing supports.

I have no idea what kind of engine to put in this thing. Does anyone have any suggestions?

what's the wingspan on it?

RE: What Christen Eagle could this be ?

38 inches. No idea what the weight will be, but I expect it to be around 3.5 pounds. That is just a guess. It should weigh about the same as a GP Combat ARF, maybe a bit more.

Being that it's a bipe, it has more drag and usually needs a little more power than a mono wing plane. Them combats are running .36 size engines, aren't they? I would go with a .40 class engine myself, but with the biggest displacement(s) in that weight class. Like a .51 to .55 size engine.

I Have The exact Christen Eagle in the pic and it is's wingspan is 47". Have no idea what to power it with!! I have a spare G20, Os91fs and an os 108BX1. I just pulled it out of the shed today and if the gentle man with the Manual has the same 47" plane, would be nice to know the cg and recommended engine. Thanks

RE: What Christen Eagle could this be ?

Well. I put a ST .51. However, the CG says that it should balance "about" where the cabane strut attaches to the lower wing. I had to add several ounces to the tail, and move the battery back behind the compartment. However, when I ran her up for her first flight, she would nose over as soon as she got to takeoff speed. Lost two props before I packed it in. I guess I need a much smaller engine, probably a .25 to .35 size. Any ideas?

"where the cabane attaches to the lower wing." That doesn't make sense. The cabane attaches to the top wing. I would double check the CG location. Also check your wheels to make sure they are not binding. I had the Extreme Flight Yak that is electric powered and put a .51 in it. No CG issuses.

RE: What Christen Eagle could this be ?

Guys, i'm wondering if we are talking about the same Christen Eagle. The Upper wing is 50" and the lower, 47". This thing has to take something alot larger than a ST 50. My trainer has a single wing and its span is about 55" and that takes a .46. This Christen eagle is pretty big (wide body). The input is well appreciated, thanks. Its sitting on my work bench (dining table) right now just waiting for an engine. Without a manual i can't figure out where exactly to put the engine mount.....Help.......

I'm sorry for not really know how to use forums, I kinda have a similar question I have got a 82in wingspan Christen Eagle from a local hobby shot when it closed that was flown at one time but for show only for the last 15-20 years now I remember it hanging in the store when i was when i was about 14. I can't find any real info on it and I was hoping it might be able to fly again someday. Can anybody guide me on this? A little more info about the plane it has no engine, old servos, some cracks but not thru in many places, and a couple of bent parts.http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2155465http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2155466http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2155467http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/atta...mentid=2155468
