First flight of DP extra today
No it didn't flutter to peices
flew with the battery pack in the nose the fuel tank right infront of the wing tube futaba 9303's on elevators hitec 5625 on ailerons borrowed jr 8311 on rudder all on 4.8 volts Moki 1.80 on power (18/10 prop for breakin) I know the prop is all wrong but its all I had. I haven't weighed it as no one I know has a scale but the power was there, not enough for hovering (it holds but doesnt seem like it wouldpull out This was tested fairly hiugh up also) but we'll see as I get a better prop drop the cg back and the engine gets a few more tanks through solid flying ship that I couldn't get to stall but very stable tomorrow I'll experiment with moving the cg back and mabye try an old pro zinger 18/8 if the weather holds out questions comments are welcome PS the plane was built almost totaly stock cept I added hinges imbetween the stock locations used radio city 1/4 hinges and rocketcity hardware with central hobbies cotrol horns oh and I also flew with a little random stick of lead on the nose just to besure I was 100% on the docile side of the cg range |

I think you'll like the 18x8 prop; my Moki 1.8 likes a Zinger 18x6-10. It likes to swing high RPM, and the smaller prop will help it reach optimal performance. I bet you could remove that lead weight with no ill effects. I balanced mine so that on the vertical downlines it wouldn't pull up very much. It's a fun, wild airplane and once you get used to it you'll have a blast. Feeding the Moki makes my wallet hurt though.

Slowly moving the cg back and engine is getting better and better Knife is is fun just a little up elevator is needed and very little rudder
Cg still not far enough back for nice flat spins but its getting there still in the nervious stage of flying the plane its the biggest thing I've ever flown and the engine still isnt 100% broken in but we're working on it |
