Powering diablotin top

i probably will order Diablotin Top tomorrow, so i need to know what motor to put in it.

i think two main candidates are:

YS .90 4-cycle, *or
.72 irvine

some details of the model:

Span: 1550mm Drive: 8,5-15ccm
Length: 1670mm Profile: Fun fly
Weight: 2,7kg.

Area: 77dmē take-off weight: starting from 2,7kg.
Surface loading: 35gr./dmē with v-version

8.5ccm would be out of question, cause lack of power?
what do you recommend for this weight/span plane?

Either engine would work fine. I'm flying a diablo top FG with a Saito 100.
Hopefully yours won't come all bent up. Mine had 3/8" warp in the horizontal stab, 1/4" warp in each elevator half, and about 1/8 to 3/16 warp in each aileron.
Mine weighs 7 lb even with the wood motor mount, micro servos, and NiMH battery. It flies incredibly precisely, all things considered.

do you have that al-ready covered model, or ARC?

you should try to warm up the warped surfaces with heatgun.

I got the already covered version. I used the heat gun, iron, books, weights, and the works trying to straighten stuff out before I got it together.

Oh, and I don't know about the diablotin, but on the diablo the beveling was ludicrously low for 3d. Like 15 degrees elevator and 20 degrees rudder. I double beveled everything before hinging and now have from 50 to 60 degrees of throw all around. It does one of the nicest elevators I've ever seen.
