FiberClassics Skydancer
I just got this kit from a visit to my local hobbie shop. It calls fao a 40 size motor with a battery mounting on the motor mount rails. So i got the YS63 for it.
There is a strange and different way of connecting the wings together called a "floating spar". Before I continue building, anyone want to share some info on this kit. PS- I believe it's a newer version because there was a update added after the manual was printed. (very little english in the manual) it almost all german. |

Hmmm.... I would ask someone who owns a Fiberclassics 330L because I believe they also have the floating spar and might be able to help you out on that. Go to the giant scale forum and you will see quite a few threads on the FC 330L.

The floating spar design employs a fixed spar in each wing half that cross through the fuse and into the opposing wing. The load is therefore carried in the wings instead of the fuse (in large part). On the 330L, there are only four "points" of attachment to the fuse for both wings ... two bolts into each wing root. The spar does not touch the fuse at all.
My assumption would be that the Skydancer has a similar design, although the pictures on their website make it look like they might be slightly different than the 330L. JS |
