dihedral
i glued both halves of wings together, let set over night, noticed i have negative dihedral ,will this effect flying much?it is only about 3 or 4 degrees.

RE: dihedral
It will make the plane more stable inverted and less stable right side up. The type of plane will have a lot to do with it. If your serious about how well the plane flies on the pitch axis it could be anoying.

RE: dihedral
its a top gun xtreme,havn,t finished build yet,and weather,no rush.ccheap 3d plane good quality.

RE: dihedral
I'm not familiar with the Top Gun Extreme. You may want to consider cutting the wing in half and reglue. It maybe a lot of work but most of the rework is at the wing root which is typically hidden by the fuselage anyway. If it were mine I'd probably reglue it.

RE: dihedral
If it's a 3D plane, there should be no dihedral and no wing incidence. The only way you'll get it to fly right is with flapperons. If you want it to fly right, cut it, straighten it it out and reglue it. It sounds like something might have gotten between the wing halves while you glued them together.

If this is the Plane,it should probably have no dihedral at all either way.I'd cut with saw carefully and epoxy glue it back.If there were joiners you will have to wrap the center in some cloth to regain strength.Perhaps fly it first, maybe with luck it wont be too bad. |
RE: dihedral
i,ll try first,if its too unstable will attempt to saw in half,it will be a job & a half, maybe a jigsaw will do the trick.
|
RE: dihedral
The jig saw will do a hackjob, take it to a cabinetmaker or similar where they can make a clean square cut, with a fine tooth quality blade. Then the glue joint will be much better.

RE: dihedral
will fly 1st then maybe try cabinate maker
