Hovering CAP 232

I don't know if it's just me but I always have a harder time hovering CAP 232's. It seems other planes (i.e. Extra's)are easier to hold in a hover. I have or had 3 CAP's and I like them very well for everything except for hovering. I am just about to start assembling a H9 80" CAP and am wondering if there is anything special I should do. I am thinking possibly the low wing creates a drag causing the plane to shift when you change power and planes with a more centered drag are easier or maybe as said in the beginning it's just me :)

I dont have problems maybe your CG is alittle off would be my guess. I know I always thought more tail heavier the better but i found out that it is not.

Some airplanes needs up-thrust to balance well in hover.

Just make sure you have plenty of throw in the tail of that 80"cap and it'll hover like a dream!

Compare fuse length vs wingspan for a Cap 232 vs Extra's and Edges. You will find Caps are much shorter coupled, especially on elevator, whereas Extras and Edges tend to be much more 'square' have a nearly equal length to wingspan ratio.

BTW: Sukhois are also very short coupled. However the shorter coupled planes are known to be wilder tumblers, including doing much more voilent blenders. Just the nature of the beast.
