Which engine for the U Can Do?
 

Hey guys!

Just got a smokin deal on a U Can Do, and now I need to find an engine :)

So far, it looks like the most popular are the OS/YS .91s, and the Saito 100.

Obviously a 4 stroke seems the natural choice, but the 91FX is hard to argue with for cost and power. Id say Im torn right now between the 91FX and Saito 100.

What are your guys' thoughts? Thanks!

I will be hanging a YS 110 on my UC3D, Lighter then the 91.

If money was not a consideration between your two choices, I'd go with the Saito 100. I guy at my field has one and it's a good match for the plane and it only weighs 21.5oz with the muffler.


I went with a Magnum .91 2 stroke (only $150) and it works fine. I only have 5 flights on it so it's still running rich. Running a 15x4 APC (haven't tried others yet) it will take the plane straight out of sight even with a snap or two on the way up. Should be plenty once it's dialled in.

Where can you get a YS 110?

Right now it looks like a Saito 100 unless I can find more info on that new YS :)

No where! I've heard some people say you'll be able to get them in July. We'll see, but I wouldn't count on it. Probably more like September. Oh by the way, expect it to cost nearly $400. Far too rich for my blood.

Singapore hobbies sells the YS FZ110 for $360.00 U.S. Dollars shipped to your door. Now thats a great price for the extra power without a weight increase over the 91. They are available as I have one on the way right now.
