Need.40-.50 Engine recommendations for 3D
Was going to use an older OS.46 SF pumped version in a Lanier Radical 330 but in reading the tuning directions I don't think this would be a great choice for 3Ding
Says the motor runs best under steady throttle increases and that it tends to choke under gunning conditions. Any suggestions? Don't want to spend a fortune on this motor.Only bought the plane 'cause it was cheap thru a Tower clearance Calls for up to a .46 2 stroke or a .60 4 stroke |

evolution 46 2 stroke will scream with power and tuning is already done for you. just install and start up.

The best combination of power and reliable transition will probably mean one of the following three:
OS, ThunderTiger, Webra. The OS 46AX or 55AX are good motors but the Webra is also good and quite a bit lighter. My choice however, is the TT46Pro fitted with a Tower/GMS47 muffler. This combo will give you gobs of power, superb transition and a very long-life. But any of the three above won't disappoint. Just steer clear of some of the Chinese 40-56 sized engines. They often make good power and idle fine but I've yet to find one that doesn't get a bit loaded up in its midrage -- which isn't so good for 3D. |

I second the .46 AX, or if you can find one, an older .46 FX. Ditch the stock muffler and go with a pitts or something with a little less backpressure. I had an FX on a Kyosho Flip 3d and was totally amazed at the power that little thing had.
