Hover V Torque Rolling
 

Ok so i have been flying 3d for about a year now and recently have been doing some tail touches with my e shock. but the thing is i can only hover with the top of the plane in i can hold it there all day long but as soon as i try and let it toque around i lose control rather quick. i have a sim to do my main practice on. do all you pros out there have any tips or hints for me to help me keep the noise straight up while im torquing. I know the trick of pushing the rudder towards the dropping wing when belly in but i just dont seem to be able to even get that far. I welcome any help thanks

Practice, practice practice. You could buy a foamy which will let you practice all day long. Indoors and out. Try a good one from fancy foam like the yak By Gernot bruckman or a shockflyer. But the trick is letting you mind relax and naturally inputing whats needed without thinking about it. Also it is best to let someone effiecient in torque rolling trim out the plane. the right amount of right thrust and rudder trim is essential in cutting down the work load. When doing a perfectly verical torque roll you will notice very little control movement. But to keep this going you will have to be thinking ahead of the plane to make the right corrections.

All airplanes will hover without any stick movement. Once you find where the spot is for your plane the stick movements will be very little. For example, to hold a solid hover with my Reflection, I need to hold slight right aileron and up elevator. If I hold the stick stills in that spot the plane will hover without any movement at all. If I let go of the aileron to counteract the torque, it will torque roll. No matter wether the plane is canopy or belly to me, I still need to hold the elevator up. You can see the control surfaces in the pics. Once you get the plane in a solid hover and can hold it there for at least 10 seconds, start playing with the ailerons to get it to torque. By then you will have so much practice that it will all be second nature.
