Which is the best simulator to practice airplane 3D ?
Please judge ONLY by accuracy of simulation/physics, not by landscape/graphics, online-mode etc.

Well, most people are going to vote for the one that they have. I have Aerofly so I can vote for that but I don't know if that's going to give you any accuracy in the voting. I have tried FS1 and Realflight at the hobby shops and out of those I liked Realflight the best.

I've used Realflight, FS-1, and AFPD (for a bit). I like Realflight the best. I like AFPD as a close second to RF. It's possible that I'm just more used to RealFlight. I agree with rclement. Most people only have a chance to fly 1 or 2 of the sims.

You guys must fly Phoenix, just upgraded from Realflight and is so much better for 3D practice.

Which version of Phoenix are you currently using ? 2. Why is 3D practice better in Phoenix ? 3. In RealFlight4.5, heli gets smaller very quickly (even with zoom+/autozoom). Is it same in Phoenix 2 ? 4. Which is better for airplane 3D, RealFlight3.5 or Phoenix ? Why ? Thanks. |

I own and have used:
Realflight G2, 3, 4, and 4.5 Aerofly Pro Aerofly Pro DX MPX I've used FS One. I don't fly helis. I still think the Realflight Series does a better job simulating smaller "40 size" planes. For years Aerofly Pro had the edge IMO on the big planes, but I think G4 and G4.5 have narrowed that gap and maybe even surpassed Aerofly. One "feature" I find which translates better to real life is that the smaller heavily loaded planes WILL snap out of turns just like real life counterparts. This is good if you're trying to learn and detect and cope with that nasty stall. Despite the "dream like" perfection which Aerofly Pro gave me, I never thought I was learning as much as when I flew the RF series. I'd practice for a while on Aerofly, but when I went back to G3, G4 it seems as though things had digressed. If I practice on G3, G4, I look like a superstar when I go back to Aerofly. Now only G4.5 gets used regularly. The rest are out on indefinite loans. Joe |

I prefer the one(s) that I can use my own transmitter. Why would I want to practice on a cheapo 4 to 6 channel radio?
