programing 9c for flaperons
I own the futaba 9 c radio and in order to set up my ailerons I have one on channel 1 and the other on channel 7. I had to activate the ail dif in the radio to get them both to work. when I try to set up faperons I get error message: wing mixing on. In order to get rid of the error I have to deactivate the ail dif. Then only one aileron works. Im soooooooooooo confused. How do I get both the ailerons and flaperons to work properly. Eternally grateful, Superfli

Plug the left aileron into channel 6 and activate the Flaperon function. Do not use aileron diff as that will not allow you to run flaperons.

You might also want to go to Futaba's web site. They have examples on a few more complicated setups with some good info. Took me more hours to figure the configuration out that I'm using on my OMP Giant Edge than I'm willing to tell. 5 mixes and 2-3 preassigned mixers later and I'm still missing 1 function that I desire.
JESTER BUT, you gotta love that radio! |

Thanks for the help..........................
Got home last night and took another look. I had the left aileron plugged into # 7 so I moved it to channel 6. Then I deactivated ail diff. It worked. My ailerons function as flaps as well. Is it a good idea to mix in some up elevator with the flaps down? I am flying the GP Dazzler 40. |

nah not really... pitch is hardly affected by aileron deflection

You'll have to fly the plane and experiment with the flaps to see if pitch mixing is necessary. Some planes pitch badly and others you don't notice the pitching.

Why did you need Aileron differential initially?

programing 9c for flaperons
I probably didn't. Because of the complexity of setting up Futaba's 9c radio it seemed to be the only way I could get the ailerons to work. I didn't realize I had one aileron plugged into channel 7. I got it all working fine now. Spent all day Saturday flying this bird. Not only is this a fun plane to fly the 9c radio is awesome.
Thanks all for your help...... :p |
