Hoving 101

How important is it to be blipping the throttle while trying to hover? I'm learning, practicing, getting closer. I just returned from practicing with an electric foamy and was finding that it helped a lot to blip the throttle. The blasts of airflow over the control surfaces seem to make the control surfaces more effective. Am I heading in the right direction?

ive found on some planes it does help to blip it alittle others dont seem to require much, do what ever feels comfortable if u can keep it in a fairly small "box" ur well on ur way. try to stay slightly ahead of the plane, avoid chasing it, and fly as many packs possible youll get it

Really it just comes down to practice and learning what the plane likes.

Blips of throttle do help but it is not always needed. If you get really locked in with your plane you can pretty much find a sweet spot where little to no throttle is necessary. You eventually get to the point where you are ahead of the plane and know what it will do before it does it. Then you don't need the throttle as much.

However every plane is different.
