BME Cap Maniac

I just purchased one of these for 99.99 shipped! I feel like it was a heck of a deal so I took it! So with my set up what engine would you go with? I have a OS 91 FX, and a Thunder Tiger 120 pro 2 stroke. Would either of these work or should I sell them both and find a more suitable engine. And is the plane a good flyer and pretty aerobatic? Thank you for any help.

The plane does not have the best reviews over time. But at 99 and your engine choices you'll be fine.
I'd put the 1.2 in it,that should be plenty.I think trim coming off was a concern,so seal it down with clear nailpolish or so.I heard its a good flier if set up right.Be patient and work with it.I think you could have a good budget flier [8D]

Yeah Nitro is correcto. It flies great once you get it put together. But putting it together sounded like a total nightmare. One guy had a build thread and the problems were endless. Once he got it put together it flew great. This is a common problem with budget planes. But hey if you have more time than money, and don't mind fixing things, it was a good choice. The 1.20 engine foir sure. Cap's are great. It was my first giant plane (CAP 232 120 with a Moki 180). They are harrier, knife edge, and tumble nirvana.

Patience I have for sure! With the 120 will pitts muffler add or lose power with it, and whats the best pitts muffler to use?

Ok, I have one about halfway assembled.  It isn't the best ARF I have ever had.  But it isn't the worst by far.  A lot of the parts don't fit quite right so a little sanding and trimming may be required.  But not a nightmare.  I am putting a 91 surpass on it since that is what I have available.  With the way I fly the light weight of this little plane should do ok with it.  With the 1.20 four stroke in the review here on RCU the batteries had to be mounted pretty far to the rear.  So I wouldn't use too heavy of an engine.  I would think the big Thunder Tiger would be a little too much, and the FX would be just right.  But some flyers want the biggest power plant their can shove under the cowling.   So it is your choice.

HItec Man, a Bisson Custom muffler should do well with the Thunder Tiger.  I use them on several engines and they have good power and the sound isn't too loud.
