First Gasser help?
 

I have my first gas plane just about ready to start but I am haveing trouble with the fule tank setup. There is no nipple for a pressure line on my muffler and the nipple on the case of the engine is suppose to go strait to the carb. I am using a T coupler from my carb line for filling my tank but what about the pressure line. I had considered a uniflow setup but even after reading a couple of articles about it (without pictures) I am still confused how that would work. I can drill and tap my muffler for a nipple considering I had already planned on doing that for a smoke system it wouldn't be a big deal but is that the best way to go? I want to set my fule tank under my wing tube. Will I need a fule pump for that. My carb line would be 9" long at that point. I would appreciate any help with this setup.

You didn'tsay what gas engine you have buta gasser doesn't use a presure line from the muffler. Your vent line from the tank is vented to the atmosphere. Route it down from the tank to the bottom of the fuse and let it hang down. Put a loop in the vent line and secure it to the top of yourfuel tank.This is to prevent fuel from running out of the vent line when the plane is in a downward additude. The carb has a built in pump so your 9" fuellinewill be ok. I always run a three line tank. Line 1 to the carb, line 2 toa fuel dot forfilling, and line 3 is the vent line.

These gassers are a differnt animal. They have idiosrecricies and that can be problematic. Also I would FORSURE get an optic kill switch or choke kill or something that will help with stopping the engine. Again, gassers are different. Please get some help, or you may be sorry. Nobody wants that.

Thanks for the suggestions. I already have an optic kill switch and a manual kill switch between my optic kill and the ignition battery. I am going to a hobby shop to get a little help before I start it up but I'd like to be as close as possible to being ready because it's an hour drive for me to get to the hobby shop. I don't want to get there and not have everything that I need and them not have what I need in stock. I haven't ran into anyone who has a gasser at my flying club. They run a lot of electric and a few nitros but not much in the 25%+ class.

If your seeking just help on the gas engine alone I'd move it to the "Gas Engines" forum. You never did say what brand gas engine you are running.
