Post stall aerobatics.

RE: What is 3D/4D mean?
3D is wild, throw the sticks and make the model do stuff planes weren't meant to do. 4D is the same but throw in a variable pitched prop and you can do it backwards!

QQ calls 3D"flying beyond the stall". Basically keeping the plane in the air using high angles of attack and prop wash/thrust. 4D like Maxx said is done using an electric plane with a prop that will reverse pitch. Imagine a plane hovering with the engine down.

RE: What is 3D/4D mean?
Although I fully understand what type of flying 3D represents, I don't know exactly the origin of the word. Is it somewhat related to 3d as in 3 dimensions or is it simply a competition class like F3A, F5B, etc?
