Flip 3D
Hey, every one, recently got 3d flip from tower and going to put YS 63, any suggestions on the combo?
and need some advise with servos. which one would be better fit to the plane? is it reasonable to use digital? What torque and speed of the servos would be good for the 3D flying? I saw some people use carbon push roads on the plane is it reasonable or i may use standard that comes with plane? So many questions. Thank You for any answers. |

seems like nobody can say something about that

If you have carbon fiber, then by all means use them, or at least use 4-40 rods.
For elevator or rudder servos, use something that has around 80oz/in torque like the Hitec 605's. Stardard servos will be fine for the ailerons. You might want to glue the canopy with RC-56 canopy glue instead of screwing it on as mine cracked where the screws went into the plastic. I had to order another canopy and I glued that one in and it has been fine since. One other thing, I actually drilled through the metal hinges and pinned my rudder and elevator as my rudder came loose after a couple of flights. |

Mine was overkill on the setup, I used 5925s because of the speed on every control surface. I also used the carbon fiber rods, titanium ends, MK control horns. YS 63, 14x4W, cool power 30% heli, lithium battery. Awesome performance. You dont have to use digitals, but I wanted the .08 speed of the 5925s.

Thanks for reply.
I have JR ds 3421 that have 65oz and .18 speed with 4.8 v pack, i expect more with 6v, around 70 oz and speed .15. What do You think about that or better to by something. Advantage of that is weight ds 3421 is 1oz and 605 is 1.72 oz. and also I already have them. Probably, I’ll go to carbon roads and ball bearing linkage that will give me more precision. |
Flip 3D
those servos will be fine, but the jr digitals like 6.0v at the most, so make sure you use a 6v regulator. a 6v pack puts out more than 6v when fully charged

Your servos will be fine. Hope you have a ball with it. I have with mine.

Thanks
And think it is not reasonable to use high torque heavy servos, because to flying on high speed on the plane, air flow will destroy the wery light construction of the plane rarher then servo. |
Flip 3D
This plane is not meant to fly at high speed. It is simply a slow fun-fly 3D machine.
I found that with standard servos on the tail that I was getting some "wiggle" during flight. When I went to higher torque servos, the "wiggle" disappeared. |
Flip 3D
which servos did You put on that?
|
Flip 3D
Hitec 605's.

I've take a look at the servos, and it seems that i'll get same torque with 6v pack.
It seems be enough for the plane. |

dinamy, use what you have.I bought my flip when they came out. HP .61 gold cup,apc 12.25 hitec 425 on the tail, 3003 on ail.And the flip its been thru heck and back and the servos still kicking,Oh well Ireplaced a gear set on rudder, left the rudder on the ground doing tr. By the way I use c f rod on all my models.

Thanks.
I've order carbob fiber roads from central hobbies with ball bearing linkages, and i'll use ds 3421 servos on that they weight only 1 oz vs regular servos 1.5 oz that make the plane lighter 2 oz. |
