Try this with your Ultra stick...
Pass halfway down the field at about 3/4 throttle. Pull straight up and wait for the plane to gain some altitude (if you're not high already) THrottle back to idle and wait for the plane to stop climbing. At the EXACT instant that it stops (no sooner no later), move the throttle to full, Rudder to full right, elevator to full down, and ailerons to full left (ie both sticks in and up). If done properly, the plane should be at about 45° and doing some neat looking spinny-things around the prop. It only does a few rotations, though, before it turns into a snap type thing. |

BTW...use high rates.

I know a guy that can put his plane into an inverted flat spin. Set the transmitter down. Walk back t othe pits. Talk tot he other flyers for a while. Take a drink of coffee. Walk back down to the flight line. Pick up the transmitter and start flying again.
Try THAT :D |

Probably the same guy that does it here, turn the TX off when its in the spin. Im not trying it, doesnt seem smart to me.

Are you talking about Loyd? I can't remember his last name. The Flying Lawnmower that went to TOC guy?

great..John shows up in this thread and now all of us newbies are gonna hide in the corner and shudder in fear.. ;)

you want a challenging "stunt" harrier rolling circles are always hard. Rolling Loops I found to be kind of difficult. Try a snap rolling circle, snap and end up in KE flight, snap again, opposite KE flight, etc. all while going in a cirlce :) Im still working on this one:)

I just got back from "the matchbox" aka a very very small field that I fly at when I dont feel like going to the flying club. The field has a huge china berry tree in the middle of it, with limbs hanging off at about 6 ft up. I just did what I am calling a hover limbo under the limb. It took a total of 3 attempts before I got it! My once white airplane now has green mulch all over it where I messed up a couple of times and had to go up into the tree. I know this sounds impossible but I will work on getting someone to go out there with me and get pictures. If your wondering why my plane is not in shambels for going into the limbs then wonder no more, I am flying my modified version of the SPAD Qhor .25. This thing is bullet proof! P.S. If you live in GA contact me if you want me to build you one of these things I build them for $35 bucks, I called them my modified qhor EZ hovers.

That is not the best airplane for Waterfalls or blenders. It should do a water fall with some hi-tech mixing and it should do blenders anyway but they probobly wont be done as good as say an edge540 would do them. Waterfalls can be done by going to roughly an 80 degree angle cut back on your power wait till the airplane is nearing a stall then full forward stick and full power (sometimes you have got to come back off the power then add it again on the bottom side of the water fall) and remember stay on that rudder.
Blenders look impressive but are easy. Climb to a very safe altitude kill the power, nose the airplane over give it full left alieron, let it roll about 2 times then suddenly add full right rudder and full down with the right aileron and it also helps to add some throttle. Remember all airplanes are a tad bit different (for instance I have to blender my laser3d totally different than I do my edge. These instructions are just a good place to start. |

southern_touch9,
I like some of those manouvers, I can rolling loop and rolling figure 8 etc. I don't have anything that could do harrier rolling circles so they will have to wait. The knife edge flick thing sounds cool, I can do them in a straight line but I have never tried them in a circuit. Are they 1/2 flicks from either side to side or are they 1 & 1/2 flicks. Thanks for the suggestions, Please keep 'em coming! Thanks again, Alan. (P.S. I think I'll pass on the spin thing! :D) |

John - I didn't know Loyd turned his transmitter off... (Although how else would it stay in a flat-spin :D)
I agree, that does seem sort of dangerous and risky... |
