Thanks for all the informative replies guys! In my origional question, I forgot to mention that obviously the JB Weld is more expensive than the 30' epoxy, so that is the reason I would (have?) tended to use epoxy on something like a carbon fiber rod end, if it worked as well, and if heat weren't a factor.
