Yeah TxMaxxMedic...... the shop I built IS small. It is the only space that I could stay within budget and improve my building area. I have a 24'X 24' garage that is not heated. I built this long, skinny plane room across the area in front of our 2 cars. (I have a "real work area" along the side of the one car that has my drill press, saws, and grinder). My new area is 17.5 feet long X 5.5 feet wide. It has a door on one end and one in the middle with a 28 inch deep work surface running the whole length, plus across the one end. It is a long bench with an isle. The white bench top, the plane is partially sitting on, is quickly removable. Everything is well planned and every square foot is used wisely. (even under the bench) It is small but VERY conveinent. It is insulated, heated and has A/C. I have enough room to do all work on 40 size planes. If I have the wing on my big planes I will have to check CG and other jobs outside in the other part of the garage. (and shiver!!!!

). I guess I could bribe the little woman to set up for the big jobs on the kitchen table!!!. No one out there has done that ...have they???
