I just measured mine. My pin is 2 mm shorter than yours and yet it does go inside the second rib. You should be fine. See the pin shouldn't go like 3mm inside as long as it goes in within the thickness of second rib, you are fine. Make sure do couple of rounds of super thin CA first and after that hit it with epoxy and micro ballons just like the picture. Follow gluing steps in the manual and make sure you get the right measurement and you will be fine. Don't be scared it's not that bad at all. Once you do the first one, the rest get easier.
