Default RE: Sig Rascal 40 Engine Fitment

ORIGINAL: DrtJnky

Wondering if a Saito FA65 will fit in the nose of the Sig Rascal 40.
In a word, nope. I tried my .65, the case is too wide to fit betweenn the engine mount rails. Tha .56 does fit, that's what is in mine (Rascal 40). The .56 is ample power, .65 would be awesome if it fit, but you might have to add tail weight. The .56 is hard enough to get in place, but the case fits between the rails. The only thing I'd recommend if you really wanted to put the .65 in is to cut the front of the Rascal off at the firewall, use a standard engine mount that the .65 fits, and then use the front as a removable cowl, you'd have to do some mods to make it work, but it sure would be easier to work on the engine when needed.

If you really want some kick-butt power, the .72 will also fit. Engine case is same width as the .56.
