RE: Ultimate Aileron Set-up
Dom,
To date, I'm the only one I'm aware of that has used a two aileron servo/slave strut installation. All I can say is that a slave strut arrangement works great! There is no reason that I can think of to run a 4 servo system. It's heavier, more expensive, more complicated, and places a larger electrical load on the system.
The only requirements for a two servo, slave strut installation is that you install some type of stiffener inside the ailerons where you intend to place the slave strut mounts., and that the linkage for the struts be mounted on the same side of each pair of ailerons. Meaning that if one strut mouts from the bottom of the aileron, is other half must mount from the bottom as well. Other than that, it's pretty easy and works just as well as a four servo system.
Carbon fiber rods work very well for the slave struts, and to date have shown no sign of flex during flight.
I have a couple of pics in the "Ultimate Build thread" that may be useful. Unfortuntely I won't be able to provide any more pics for a few months yet.
