I know exactly the history of The Magnum brand as sold by Hobby Shack/ Hobby people. I used to work for them as an engine repair tech.
Paul Bender, the owner of Global/Hobby People copyrighted the name Magnum in the late 80's when he changed the name from Thunder tiger. Magnum is now a Global Hobby copyrighted brand name. Has been for years. Magnum was first made in Taiwan by the Thunder Tiger people. Now it's made in China by the same company that made ASP.
