Default RE: Funtana X100

ORIGINAL: islandflyer
I am doing mine with a 1.50 because it was the easy way to balance my F 90. My friend is doing his with a 1.25, but he will probably have to modify to pull pull rudder, mount RX battery on the engine box, and change some of the hardware to lighter one.
According to MM the new X100 will have a more forward CG.

The new Funtana has several changes. Most siginificant are:

New airfoil - Not constant thinckness. Two major benifits. More stable in high alpha (Harriers) especially upright. lso more precise flying.
Optional SFGs- Bolt on the wingtips.Add tons of rudder authority. Square KE loops with them on.
Wing is moved back - Also balances more nose heavy with no ballast needed. Lighter and flies much better at the forward CG. (gives up nothing in 3D).

also has longer CF landing gear and a CF wing tube. Saves a few ounces.

Its is an awesome flying model. Like a foamuy in 3d and a pattern model in precision.

I think the 16 x 4 W is still best on the 125. Just let it rev and make power. I've flown the APC 16 x 6 and its OK, but it lugs a little.
