Default VII Build

Hi Guys, I just purchased a set of moldings for a VII-C hull... the set consists of each hull half and a deck mold which isn't really in great condition and will need some work to make ready for taking a cast from. The molds are made from GRP.
My main quiestion now is what are the main differences between the VII-C and B like the U-47. I have seen the revell 1/72 kit which is the VII-C. the other iv seen is a 1/125 scale revell kit of U-99 which i beleive is a VII-B ?

Im wondering if it would be worthwhile getting one of these kits for the sake of the plans and paperwork inside from which to see scale detail of the hull, or just get some plans from the internet. I have a few drawings from the internet so far which will be of good help but everyone seems to have difference parts here and there.

I do not wish to build to every exact detail, just a "near as" with the main fixings, like the tower etc.
I will need to build from scratch the Tower, rudders, planes and other parts such as periscope etc. I'd like to make molds for as many as these parts as possible. had a thought that maybe could consider producing it as a kit' but that is a long way off. I have much to learn before thinking about that seriously.

How is best to make the appendages etc and molds for these parts ? Most parts seen so far i think are cast from polyurethane resin ?

Next step is to fill the tiny holes and scratches etc in the molds to make them perfectly smooth again, what type of filler is best for this ? was thinking car body filler might be ideal since they are polyester and epoxy based, although im not sure if there are better choices which are easy to come by. after filling what grade paper should be used for the finishing surface so that there is no damage to the surrounding areas ?
