Black Horse Extra 300S
Well, looks like Black Horse could do with more improvement. The wing joint on the Extra 300 isn't very good, the tips that are meant to slot into the fuselage are very flimsy.
The instructions are terrible, as is the norm with the kits from Vietnam. I was working on the wing yesterday, and the instructions call for servos mounted on a tray in the underside of each wing, with a nice photo of the mounting. The kit itself comes without any trays, as it has been designed for the servos to go inside the wing, and only the control horns protruding.
Being an amateur builder, this of course evoked many expletives, curses, etc. etc.
The area where the servos are mounted are very weak also, looks like I'll have to reinforce this also (God, so much extra weight already).
Of course I shouldn't complain so much, as the kits are cheap, but just wish the instructions were clearer.
One good part was the control rods for the fuselage, especially the linkage for the elevator, very easily adjustable to get the two elevators in line, without playing with the clevises. The fuselage section is quite easy to work on, but the wings are pure misery.
Hopefully will get it done by Saturday and be flying on Sunday.
Thanks again for all of the advice and support.
