Short term storage for me is a series of stacking cradles made out of PVC for the fuselages and shelf brackets on the wall for the wings..... for long term storage, I use the tops of the #&$^&%@%$#($( trees at the field. [:@]
I was going to say in plastic garbage bags - labeled so I know what the pieces were from.

I have a big cellar and a dedicated charging area with a couple tables (plywood on sawhorses) where I set my planes - wings stored on foam covered dowel racks under the table. If I have time I make a stand for each fuselage; which means I buy Robart Super Stands and use those.
