Even if you are very good at hovering I don't think the Surpass will cut it. If you are a novice you are looking at frustration. I like an engine/prop that delivers 10 lbs thrust on a 6 lb 3d plane.

A Saito 72 on its best day may barely hover a 7 lb plane but I doubt it. And pull out with an 82 is nothing like a rocket. More like a Piper Cub climb out on a hot day at 5000'.
