Default RE: Ultra RC 87" Yak Build and Fly

Anyone know of a way to setup a quick disconnect for a rudder for easier transport?
maybe a dumb idea, but had to ask...
Sure do. You can easily adapt the hinges to accept one single wire to retain the rudder to the fin in place of the pins in the supplied pin hinges. I have done this with music wire purchased from our local hobby store, made by K&S. I would suggest bending the wire into a "L" shape on the bottom, extending approximately 1/4". I would then make a recess in the bottom of the rudder bevel to accept the wire "flush" to the bottom. Then a single piece of tape is all you will need to secure the wire for flying. Remove the tape, remove the wire, remove the rudder, and "presto" it should easily fit in your nice ride.

BTW - This technique has been around for years. Composite-Arf still uses it today.
