Thought that I'd crank up the folks that like to find fault with everything having to do with AMA. Take a look at the picture in the upper right hand corner of page 72 of the December MA. Looks like a bottle of beer in the hands of one of the flyers, doesn't it? Those wild and crazy free flighters!

What makes you think the individual with the beer is "...OPERATING..." a model? He has what appears to be a stopwatch around his neck, and in the shirt pocket. A FF "timer". Lee Hines is on the left holding that Sweepette. I won a number of trophies using that design back in the '60s.

AMA Safety Code, General, #9 states, "I will not OPERATE my model ... under influence of alcohol....eight(8) hours....consumed alcohol."

Nothing against drunk judges and/or timers.
