Just for fun..... Lot's of probably useless E info
Trying to figure out motor, esc, battery choices for F3A...
Just thought I would share weights and prices with ya..
Maybe you'll find this helps out on your choices.
Possibly maybe Chad or Adam can add the Pletty info to match??
If so thanks..
Hacker c50 14xl, Hacker 77, front and rear budd mounts: 647g
$425 $219 $57 $701
Hacker c50 14xl, Hacker 90, front and rear budd mounts: 692g
$425 $389 $57 $871
With the Hacker esc's you need the programming box. $40
Now these aren't including any other bracing needed for the rear mounts.
Which in my estimation would add another 25-35 g to each figure.
Axi 5320/28 Jeti 77: 535g
$179 $175 $354
Axi 5320/28 Jeti 90: 603g
$179 $235 $414
Axi 5320/28 Spin 77: 550g
$179 $205 $384
Axi 5320/28 Spin 90: 600g
$179 $295 $474
With the spins you need the programming box $48
No rear mounting needed if you nose mount.
Axi 5330/F3A Jeti 90: 760g
$199 $235 $434
Axi 5330/F3A Spin 99: 757g
$199 $295 $494
I'm seeing the weights of the F3A motor setup and the Hacker setup to be not so far apart after doing this. It seems people weigh the motor and esc and forget about the budd mount and the extra bracing.
Now, the big difference is in the battery weights. I'm starting to accumulate the numbers on these also. Up to Masters I feel the big winner is the Flight power 3700's still or maybe the Tp prolite 4200 or the extreme 3800 or 3850's, but in Fai, the Tp 5300's still seem to lead the way. As you can see, I'm not trying to be partial to what I use.
Not sure what I'm going to do to move up to Fai.
The number I have are as follows.
Flight Power 5s 3700 442g 20c 30c 50c burst $210
Flight Power 5s 4350 577g $255
Flight Power 5s 4900 631g $305
Flight Power 5s 5000 670g $310
Thunder Power prolite 4200 472g 15c 24c $230
Thunder Power prolite 5300 560g 13c 20c $330
Thunder Power prolite 6000 627g 10c 12c $330
Thunder Power extreme 3800 480g 22c 30c 50c burst $210
Thunder Power extreme 3850 484g $215
Thunder Power extreme 4500 563g $250
Thunder Power extreme 4600 571g $250
Thunder Power extreme 5000 613g $290
These prices and weights were easily pulled off of various websites. I haven't tested many of them to be accurate as I use what I use, but they are the manufacturers stated weights. Prices vary a little depending on where you go.
I may do a glow breakdown also to see how much of a difference each setup is comparitively.
