Default RE: Thrust angle for Kadet Senior

You want about 2 degrees down thrust and 3 degrees right thrust in it.

More power--more right thrust.

If you don't put any right thrust in it--you'll have your hands full everytime you take off. It will be a ground looping plane from hell. Worse than a Cub. You'll be using a 14-6 prop or a 13-8 prop. Thats a lot more torque than the 10-6 you'd normally use with a .46 on that airplane.

Make is a taildragger and put ailerons on it. A Kadet Senior with very little dihedral and some ailerons is a blast to fly.

You know those diagonal braces on the side of the fuse behind the wing? On both sides of the fuselage there are diagonal braces made from 1/4" balsa.

Make diagonal braces on the top and bottom of the fuselage too. It adds a tremendous amount of torsional strength without much weight penalty. You'll have enough engine weight up front to counteract those few grams of weight in the tail.
