I'd be worried about the effect of the weight on the strut bushing. It's not really designed to have a large weight on there. Also, once the weight is spun up, it doesn't actually create much resistance for the engine. A better option if you must break in an engine on the bench is to remove it from the boat and fit it with an airplane prop.
